What we collect, why we need it, who else touches it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 15 September 2026.
In one line. We collect the details we need to write about your business and to bill you, we never sell them, and you can ask us to show, correct or delete them at any time by writing to one named person. Your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 are set out in section 7, and how to use them is on our data protection page.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data fiduciary, which is the term the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 uses for whoever decides what happens to your data, is Incunation Global, Beta-2, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh 201310, India. ProminAI, StartupFeed and CampusFeed are brands operated by Incunation Global.
Our contact point for anything to do with personal data is the Grievance Officer, Suraj Prajapati, at grivance@startupfeed.in or +91 120 427 2743.
2. What we collect
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Your name, business name, email, phone and city | To contact you, create your portal login and raise your invoice |
| Your business facts: services, leadership, qualifications, locations, markets, competitors | To research and write accurate articles about you. Most of this is intended for publication, and you approve every word first |
| Your website and public profile links | To check them for anything that clashes and build your fix-list |
| Your logo and photographs | To design the image that runs with your article |
| Billing details: your GST number if you give one, your billing address, and the payment id | To issue a compliant GST invoice |
| Portal activity: logins, approvals, messages and downloads | To run the service, and to show you and us who approved what and when |
| Basic technical data: IP address, browser and pages viewed | Security, and counting visits |
We never see your card. Card numbers, UPI ids and netbanking credentials go directly to Razorpay and never reach our servers.
We do not knowingly collect data about children. Our service is sold to businesses and professionals. If you believe a child's data has reached us, tell the Grievance Officer and we will delete it.
3. The free AI check on our homepage
When you use the check on our homepage, the brand, city and category you type are sent to Tavily, for search, and to Google, for Gemini, to build the answer, and nowhere else. Nothing you type there is stored against your name. You do not have to sign up or give a phone number to use it.
4. Why we are allowed to use it
We use your data to perform the contract you have entered into with us, to meet our legal obligations such as tax and accounting, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing the service. For anything beyond that, such as marketing messages, we ask for your consent first and you may withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it.
5. Who else touches it
We share the minimum necessary with the following service providers, and with nobody else:
- Razorpay, to take payments and issue receipts. We never see your card.
- Hostinger, where this website and the member portal are hosted.
- Google Workspace, for our email.
- Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages are used. No names, no phone numbers.
- Tavily and Google Gemini, for the homepage AI check described above.
- WhatsApp, when you choose to message us there.
- Our own writers and editors, who are bound to confidentiality.
- Our chartered accountant and any authority we are legally obliged to answer.
We do not sell your personal data, and we never will. We do not share it for anybody else's advertising.
6. Where it is kept, and for how long
Data is stored on servers in India where the provider offers it. Some providers named above process data outside India; where that happens we rely on their contractual protections, and we do not transfer data to any country the Government of India has restricted.
| What | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Invoices, payment records and tax documents | 8 years, as Indian tax law requires |
| Your account, portal content and approvals | While your account is active, then 3 years |
| Published articles and their facts | Indefinitely, because they are published journalism |
| Website analytics | 26 months |
| WhatsApp and email correspondence | 3 years |
When a period ends we delete the data or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.
7. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you may:
- Ask what we hold about you, and a summary of how it has been used and who it was shared with
- Have it corrected if it is wrong, incomplete or out of date
- Have it erased, unless we are required by law to keep it or it forms part of published journalism
- Withdraw consent you have given, at any time
- Nominate somebody to exercise these rights for you if you die or become incapable
- Complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not put it right
Write to grivance@startupfeed.in. We answer within 30 days, free of charge. The full procedure is on the data protection page.
One limit, stated plainly: an article already published on StartupFeed or CampusFeed is journalism. We will correct any factual error in it at any time, free of charge, but we will not erase an accurate published article on request. If it concerns you personally rather than your business, raise it with the Grievance Officer and we will consider it properly.
8. Cookies
This website uses only what it needs: a session cookie to keep you signed in to the portal, a security cookie to protect forms, and Google Analytics to count visits. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run retargeting. You can block cookies in your browser; the public pages will still work, but the portal login will not.
9. Keeping it safe
The site and portal run over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to customer data is limited to team members who need it. Payment data never reaches us. If a breach ever affects your personal data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the Act requires.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell account holders by email where the change is material.
