Your data rights
How to see, correct, erase or take back your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. One email, one named person, 30 days.
You do not need a lawyer or a form. Email grivance@startupfeed.in saying what you want. We reply within 30 days and it costs nothing. This page explains each right in plain words so you know what to ask for. Last updated 15 September 2026.
1. The words the law uses
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 governs how Indian businesses handle personal data. It uses three terms worth knowing:
- Data principal means you, the person the data is about.
- Data fiduciary means whoever decides what happens to it. Here that is Incunation Global.
- Personal data means anything that can identify you: your name, email, phone, address and similar.
Facts about your company, such as its turnover or the services it sells, are business information rather than personal data. Your own name, email and phone are personal data even when you give them to us in a business capacity.

3. Your six rights, and what to say
The right to know what we hold
You may ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we have done with it, and the names of everybody we have shared it with. Write: “Please send me a summary of the personal data you hold about me.” We send it in readable form, free of charge.
The right to have it corrected
If anything is wrong, incomplete or out of date, we fix it. Write: “Please correct the following: …” and tell us what it should say. Most corrections are done the same week. If the wrong detail has also appeared in a published article, say so and we will correct the article too, at no charge.
The right to have it erased
You may ask us to delete your personal data. We do so unless the law requires us to keep it, and we will tell you plainly which parts we must keep and why. Write: “Please erase the personal data you hold about me.”
Two honest limits. Invoices and payment records must be kept for eight years under Indian tax law, so those we cannot delete. And an article already published on StartupFeed or CampusFeed is journalism; we will correct any factual error in it at any time, but we do not erase an accurate published article on request.
The right to withdraw consent
Where you gave consent, you may take it back at any time and it must be as easy as giving it was. Write: “I withdraw my consent for …” We stop that use straight away. Withdrawing consent does not undo anything done lawfully before you withdrew it, and it may mean we can no longer provide part of the service, which we will explain first.
The right to nominate somebody
You may nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to act. Write to us with that person’s name and contact details and we will record it against your account.
The right to complain
If we have not handled your data properly, use our grievance redressal process first, because that is what the Act expects. If we do not put it right, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Nothing on this page limits that right.
4. What we will ask you for
Only enough to be sure it is really you, because handing your data to the wrong person would be the worse mistake. Usually that means writing from the email address on your account. If you write from a different address we may ask one or two questions only you could answer. We will not ask you to send a government identity document.
5. What it costs, and how long it takes
| Stage | Time |
|---|---|
| We acknowledge your request | Within 24 hours |
| We confirm who you are | Within 3 working days |
| We complete the request, or explain why we cannot | Within 30 days |
There is no charge. If we refuse any part of a request, we will say which part, why, and what you can do next.
6. Your duties under the Act
The Act asks something of you too. Give us details that are true and complete, do not impersonate anybody else, and do not file a false or frivolous complaint. Filing a knowingly false complaint can attract a penalty under the Act.
7. If a breach ever happens
If a security incident affects your personal data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the Act requires. We will say what happened, what data was involved, what we have done, and what you should do. We will not delay that message to protect our own reputation.
